first_imgVancouver – The Washington Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council plans to hear public comment on the draft Notice of Construction Air Permit or the Vancouver Energy crude-by-rail oil terminal, which is proposed for the Port of Vancouver. The public is invited to bring written or oral comments during the hearing from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Clark College’s Gaiser Hall, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.The permit’s goal is to make sure the sources of air pollution are established in a way that conforms with state air-quality regulations. A permit must be acquired before the facility can be built. If built, the terminal would be capable of handling an average of 360,000 barrels of crude oil a day, making it the largest rail-to-marine transfer terminal in the U.S.last_img
