PASADENA – A 3-year-old boy died late Sunday of injuries suffered when the car he was riding in was struck by a stolen vehicle being chased by Arcadia police earlier in the day.The chase began after someone reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Singing Wood Drive at 9:09 a.m. Sunday, according to a police press release. After checking the vehicle’s license plate number, police discovered it was stolen. Officers located the vehicle in the area and attempted to make a traffic stop, the report said. However, the vehicle failed to yield to officers and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle continued into Pasadena, where it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Del Mar Boulevard and Altadena Drive a short time later, according to the report. The suspect was identified by police as Sara Bravo, 26, of La Puente. She was taken into custody at the scene and transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered in the collision. The report stated that once she is released from the hospital, she will be booked on suspicion of grand theft auto and felony evading causing injury. As of Sunday evening, she was still at the hospital being treated for her injuries, said Arcadia police Lt. Ken Harper. Harper said Bravo will also be charged with murder because the child died as a result of injuries he sustained in the collision. [email protected](626) 578-6300, Ext. 4496last_img
