AFC Bournemouth ‘He can be a difference-maker’ – Howe hopes Ibe’s cameo can kick-start Bournemouth career Matthew Scott Last updated 2 years ago 06:25 16/9/2017 FacebookTwitterRedditcopy Comments(0) Getty Images AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth v Brighton & Hove Albion Brighton & Hove Albion Premier League After the former Liverpool player came off the bench to inspire his side’s win over Brighton, the manager hopes it is the start of something big Eddie Howe hopes Jordon Ibe’s match-winning cameo against Brighton and Hove Albion can light a fire underneath the winger’s Bournemouth career.Ibe came off the bench with the Cherries staring down the barrel of a fifth Premier League defeat from as many games after Solly March’s header for the Seagulls, but the ex-Liverpool man set up both Andrew Surman and Jermain Defoe to secure a 2-1 triumph.Bournemouth 17/4 to beat Everton Article continues below Editors’ Picks ‘I’m getting better’ – Can Man Utd flop Fred save his Old Trafford career? I’m lucky I got my chance and lucky we got the three points we needed,” he said.”He [Howe] wanted me to be direct and go at the full-back, it’s great for me to help the team win today.”Defoe’s goal was his first for Bournemouth since a loan spell some 18 seasons previously and began to repay the faith Howe had placed in the former Sunderland veteran by offering him a three-year contract.”He is one of the best finishers I’ve ever seen. He’s lost none of that,” Howe told a news conference. “We need to get to know as a team what Jermain wants as he is different to the strikers we have at the club. It is all about creating more openings for him.”Having seen his team pick up a first Premier League win last time out, Brighton manager Chris Hughton lamented defensive errors for providing Ibe with the room to supply Surman and Defoe.”It’s hard to take, we did everything right,” Hughton said. “We matched them and once we took the lead, if anything, that spurred them into making the changes and they had to go for it but we conceded two poor goals which is unlike us.”We defended really well all game. We knew they would have possession around the box and you’ve got to keep in your shape – once you come out your shape it allows holes and that happened with both goals.”That’s the difference in levels. We defended really well against Man City [a season-opening 2-0 loss] but from our mistake they scored. These are the type of games we need to make sure we stay in it right the way through to the end.”

If anyone offers you a weekend getaway in a very cool resort along with live music – we clearly don’t need too much convincing. Finally making time for Escape Summer Vibes (this comes as a precursor of sorts to the Escape Festival of Arts and Music which is scheduled for later this year in Naukuchiatal) we headed off to Seasons Golf Resort, Tarudhan Valley in Manesar on 17 May. The one-dayer featured most Escape essentials, new undiscovered talent, seasoned music makers, several genres of music as always and as a killer addition – there was the pool. Nestled cozy in the middle of nowhere – this resort is a perfect, picturesque property that everyone should check out if they are looking for a little break from Delhi (we got there in an hour and a half flat!). Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’By the time we got there and headed to the party, people had started trickling in. There were also guests who were there since afternoon and had had their cursory time in the pool and were now just relaxing with a drink in hand and waiting for the action to build up. and before you think of something weird, the action came in the form of some killer music from Soul’d Out (Blues/Jazz/Funk act), Fuzz Culture(a groovy ‘two piece’ electronic band), Vial/Audiogramme (psychedelic deep grooves and progressive psytrance), Ananda (Psy Trance), Minimal Monk, Tech Panda, Guy Called Sid Sal (exceptional groove, fused with his trademark sound somewhere between indie and electronic), Monolith (raw and grungy bass music), BlueOrb/BuffaPirate (new wave bass music, west coast glitch-hop, reggae/hip-hop infused dubstep, certified trap, ghetto disco & funk driven jackin house), Kumbhkaran, Marsh (progressive, deep house, electro, house sets) WhiteWizard (nature inspired Psy Trance). Also Read – Leslie doing new comedy special with NetflixThe festival also featured one of India’s first ambient stages which elevated the experience of the night. The ambient stage featured Gauge, Mr Melon, Agam Walia and Guy called Sid Sal. L Tochhawng aka Mama, Festival Director, Escape, said, ‘Our goal was to create an experiential evening that incorporated various elements of the main festival be it the music, the venue, the ambience, the food or the vibe itself. It was encouraging and wonderful to hear and see the positive and excited response of the people who partied on after the show into the wee hours of the morning.’ Rainer Stoll, MD of Season’s Group, said, “Escape is his and Mama’s brainchild. The whole idea was to merge great music with a great destination and give people something they would enjoy throughly. And Seasons’ has played host to numerous Escape festival and parties.’ He also said that dates of more festivals that work as a build-up to the main celebrations will be announced soon as will the dates of the Escape festival at Naukuchiatal. We clearly cannot wait!
